KOMEN LOWCOUNTRY RACE FOR THE CURE® ANNOUNCES 2009 HONORARY RACE CHAIR
Charleston, SC --- Richard Todd, radio personality for 1250 WTMA-AM in Charleston has been named the 2009 Honorary Race Chair for the 16th annual Susan G. Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®. This year’s Race will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2008 at Daniel Island, South Carolina.
In making the announcement, Susan G. Komen for the Cure race chair Paul Vannatta said, “We are excited to have such a local celebrity as our honorary chair for the Race this year. Richard has been a great supporter of the fight against breast cancer, especially since his wife Mary was diagnosed last year.”
“I have participated in the Race many years and I am really honored and excited to be the honorary chair for the Race,” said Todd. “With my wife’s recent battle with breast cancer the cause has become much closer to my heart. A brush with cancer changes you forever and not a day goes by that I don't appreciate what I've got.”
