Volunteers Make It Happen!

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is a volunteer-oriented organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. Volunteers enable the organization to strengthen existing programs, add new programs, procure funds and resources, add specialized skills and talents, and increase public awareness of services. Our volunteers carry the powerful message of the Foundation and its work to their friends, families and communities.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation currently has more than 50,000 dedicated volunteers giving their time in more than 100 Komen Affiliate cities, including three international affiliates in Puerto Rico, Italy and Germany.

Our local Lowcountry Affiliate has more than 400 dedicated volunteers who work various events which include the Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®, The BMW Ultimate Drive® and the Survivor Luncheon. We welcome all volunteers with open arms, for they truly are what make our organization a success.
